Dingač is the most famous Croatian red wine in the world. The wine is named after a geographic location, the Dingač wine region. The wine is made from Plavac Mali grapes, harvested when the grapes almost turn into raisins.

The wine has a dark ruby colour. The taste is fruity with aromas of blackberries, blueberries, black currants and cherries blended with a sweet and full aroma of jam and plums. Even hours later, the aroma does not lose any of its intensity.

locality: Pelješac

Grape Varietals: Dingač

Amphora Rose is best served at 16ºC - 18ºC

Food pair: red meats, many types of cheese and game.

Extra information: Dingač is the first Croatian wine whose manner of production and origin were protected under the Geneva Convention of 1961.

The Dingač wine region sits on the southern hills in the middle of the Pelješac peninsula. The grapes grow along very steep slopes of the Adriatic Sea. Because the sun is almost perpendicular to the vineyards and also by the reflection of sunlight in the water, the grapes catch a lot of sunlight. This has a major impact on the quality of the grapes.

This wine has won many awards, including a bronze medal at the IWC in London.
