Smederevka
Smederevka – The classic white grape of the Balkans
Smederevka is one of the most characteristic white grape varieties of the Balkans, named after the town of Smederevo in Serbia. The grape has been cultivated for centuries in North Macedonia, where the warm climate and sunny vineyards suit it perfectly. For a long time Smederevka was one of the most widely planted white grapes in the region.
It is known for its late ripening and its high, fresh acidity, which makes Smederevka ideally suited to light, refreshing white wines — and to cuvées, where it adds structure and freshness. In the glass you recognise a bright yellow colour with green tints.
Smederevka wines are light, dry and lively, with aromas of green apple, citrus and sometimes a subtle floral touch. Their fresh style makes them ideal as an aperitif and with light dishes: fresh salads, seafood, white meat and soft cheeses. A true summer wine with excellent value for money.
