Badel 1862

The story

Badel 1862 is Croatia's oldest and largest producer of spirits, with roots going back to the distillery of Franjo Pokorny in Zagreb, founded in 1862. More than a century and a half of craftsmanship in liqueurs and rakijas — a household name across the Balkans and far beyond.

Its best-known product is Pelinkovac: a herbal bitter based on wormwood (pelin) and a secret blend of herbs, the region's digestif of choice for generations. Badel also makes classics such as Stara Šljivovica (plum brandy) and sweet liqueurs no Balkan celebration is complete without.

Our Badel range

Gorki Pelinkovac Herbal Liqueur – the famous bittersweet wormwood-based herbal liqueur. Neat on ice with a slice of orange, or as a digestif after dinner.

Šljivovica 40% (1L) – traditional aged plum brandy, full of flavour. The classic among Balkan rakijas.

Svatovski Kruskovac 24% (1L) – smooth, golden pear liqueur. Traditionally the "wedding liqueur" — sweet, festive and easy-going.

Bajadera Cream Liqueur 16% – creamy liqueur inspired by the famous Bajadera praline: nougat, hazelnut and chocolate in a glass.
